Several days after we arrived in Palau, we were watching he Australian news channel, and found out that there had been an earthquake somewhere in Hawaii. That is all we knew, but we remembered that we asked the Lord to take care of our business while we were gone, so we had no fear and continued freely ministering the Word of God.

When we returned home, we found out what happened. Our daughter Christy, had been living in our house; and as she was eating breakfast Sunday morning, the 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck and started violently shaking our house. She knew this was not of God, and WHEN SHE SPOKE TO THE EARTHQUAKE WITH AUTHORITY IN THE NAME OF JESUS, (she doesn't remember what she said, because God's Word came up out of her spirit), INSTANTLY, THE EARTHQUAKE STOPPED - at our house anyway. Then she prayed for people on the island. Many houses had extensive damage a church was destroyed, and a hotel had so much damage, that it was condemned. Honolulu, which is 170 miles away, also had major problems from this earthquake.

Except for our house, the earthquake must have continued in our neighborhood, because all of our neighbors had cracked walls; and broken dishes, televisions, etc.. WE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE AT ALL! Why? Because Jesus gave Christy His Authority to stop this attack against her life, and against our property. She may be small in stature, but she was a giant in faith. THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW THEIR GOD SHALL BE STRONG, AND DO EXPLOITS.

Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, drought, fires, sickness, disease, accidents... are they sent by God or are they sent by Satan? The answer is very simple, and is found in JOHN 10:10 (Amp) "THE THIEF (Satan) COMES ONLY TO STEAL, AND TO KILL, AND TO DESTROY. I (Jesus) HAVE COME THAT THEY MAY HAVE AND ENJOY LIFE, AND HAVE IT IN ABUNDANCE (TO THE FULL, TILL IT OVERFLOWS)." God is the creator, and not the destroyer. Everything God does brings us peace and joy. Satan never created anything - Satan is the destroyer; bent on destroying God's creation. If it creates and brings joy, happiness, and peace, it is from God. If it steals, kills, or destroys and causes great heartache, it is from Satan. Don't blame God for what Satan does. Don't thank God for what Satan does either.

Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, he spoke these Words to you and me: "All power (authority) is given unto me in heaven and in Earth" MA 28:18. Jesus is not on earth now; he is in heaven. We, the born-again believer (the church) are on earth, and Jesus gave us authority to stop earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, drought, fires, etc. by SPEAKING GOD'S WORD! Out of the abundance of the our hearts, our mouth speaks. Christy's heart was full of the Word of God; and that is why she stopped the earthquake - when she spoke God's Word with authority.

Many years ago when we used to farm in Colorado, a tornado came right over our house. I wasn't there but Jan could feel it's tremendous pressure as the violent wind tried to explode our house. When she spoke to it with the authority of God's Word, instantly, it stopped - no damage! If she had not used her authority, my wife and three daughters could have been killed.

Two years ago, a typhoon (hurricane) was headed for Guam. A pastor friend of ours who lives on Guam, gathered his church people together, and as they spoke to it with the authority of God's Word, it just dissipated - just totally disappeared. I confirmed this by watching a live satellite weather image on the internet.

In MARK 4:35-39, we see that Satan caused a great storm on the sea, and tried to kill Jesus. Jesus responded by doing three things in verse 39.

1. He arose (he didn't just lie there and take it).
2. He rebuked the wind (which was sent by Satan to steal, kill, and destroy).
3. He said unto the sea "PEACE, BE STILL", and the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.
